Palmistry: What Do Your Lines Say About Your Future?
Palmistry (Chiromancy) is the art of gaining insight into a person's character and future potentials by reading the lines, shapes, and mounts in the palm of the hand. This teaching, which began in ancient India and China, believes that our hands are directly connected to our brain and soul.
Which Hand to Read?
The general rule in palmistry is: Your active hand (the hand you write with) shows your current life, the destiny you create with your own efforts, and your future. Basic Lines and Their Meanings
1. Life Line
It is the curved line that starts between the thumb and index finger and goes down towards the wrist. Contrary to popular belief, the length of this line does not show how long you will live. It represents your life energy, vitality, and overall physical endurance.
- Deep and clear: A strong will and high joy of life.
- Broken or chained: Health fluctuations or major turning points in life.
2. Head Line
It is the line that starts just above the life line (under the index finger) and cuts horizontally across the palm. It shows your intellectual capacity, how you learn, and your communication style.
- Straight line: An analytical, logical, and practical mind.
- Curved downwards: A creative, intuitive mind prone to art.
3. Heart Line
It is the line running horizontally across the upper part of the palm, just below the fingers. It shows your emotional state, romantic relationships, and capacity for empathy.
- Ending at the index finger: Idealistic, selective, and loyal in love.
- Ending at the middle finger: More rational in love, sometimes selfish or independent.
- Straight and short: A nature that values logic more than romance.
4. Fate Line
It is the line that starts from the bottom of the palm (wrist level) and goes vertically towards the middle finger. It may not be prominent in everyone. It represents your career, the role of external factors in your life, and major karmic events.
Mounts (Planetary Mounts)
The fleshy parts in the palm are called "Mounts," and each is associated with a planet:
