Intention Setting

Intention Setting is the practice of focusing on a specific question or wish while drinking coffee. The clarity of intention is believed to enhance the meaningfulness of symbol formations.

What is Intention Setting?

Intention setting is the practice of focusing on a specific question or wish before or while drinking the coffee for a cup reading. Traditionally the intention is held silently and not told to the reader, then repeated inwardly as the cup is closed. The reader first looks at the overall mood of the cup and then at the areas that may relate to the intention. A clear intention makes the reading easier: rather than a broad question such as "How will my life go?", one subject, such as "Will this job change be good for me?", makes clear which area the symbols tie to. A common misconception is that a cup cannot be read without an intention; such a cup is read as a general reading with a wider focus. On Faltastik you can write your intention or question when getting a coffee reading so the reading focuses on it.
