Jawline
Jawline is the side profile and shape of the jaw. A sharp jawline indicates determination and strength, a soft jawline harmony and flexibility. Considered the physical reflection of character.
What is the Jawline in face reading?
The jawline is the frame of the lower face from below the ear to the tip of the chin, and in face reading it is linked with endurance, determination and the order of later life. Unlike the chin, it covers the jaw corners too. In Mian Xiang the jawline belongs to the earth zone, the last of the three stops; on the age map the mouth marks age 60, and the chin and its surroundings 61 and beyond. The reader looks at the width and angle of the jaw corners, whether the line is crisp or soft. A broad, full jawline is read as firm ground and support from others in later years, a soft line as harmony and flexibility. A common misconception is that a sharp jawline always means strong will; the tradition reads it with the upper and middle face, not on its own.
