Destiny Number

Destiny Number: Derived from the sum of numerical values of letters in your full birth name. Also known as Expression Number. Shows the potential you need to fulfill in life.

What is a Destiny Number?

The Destiny Number is the number in numerology calculated from the letters of the full birth name; it is also called the Expression Number. In the Pythagorean system letters get values from 1 to 9 in alphabetical order, restarting after nine: A=1, B=2, I=9, J=1 and so on. The letter values are added and reduced, except for master numbers. The Chaldean system assigns different values and gives 9 to no letter, so the same name can produce different results. Practice also varies for Turkish letters such as Ç, Ğ, İ, Ö, Ş and Ü; some calculations use their place in the Turkish alphabet, others their Latin base letter. The destiny number describes a person's abilities, how they express themselves and the potential they are called to develop. A common misconception is that a married name or nickname changes it; the traditional calculation uses the full name on the birth record.
