Saturn Return
Saturn's approximately 29-year cycle returning to its natal position. Associated with the adult transition crisis, serious life evaluation, and maturation.
What is a Saturn Return?
Saturn return is the period when transiting Saturn comes back to the degree it occupied in your birth chart. Saturn orbits the Sun in about 29.5 years, so the first return falls between ages 28 and 30 and the second between 57 and 60. Because Saturn goes retrograde, it can cross the natal degree three times within about a year, so the return is treated as a period rather than a date. Saturn is linked to responsibility, limits, structure and maturity, and the first return is read as the real passage into adulthood: decisions about career, relationships and daily life become serious, and structures that no longer work are questioned. A common misconception is that a Saturn return always brings crisis or loss; the traditional emphasis is on putting what you have worked for on solid ground.
